Jim is a Montana artist with an appreciation of nature that grew out of his early years living in the Texas countryside, where he was born. There his mom, also an artist, taught him to appreciate nature and all things beautiful.
During his travels to Ireland, the home of his ancestors, Jim’s admiration of the beauty of the Irish landscape resulted in his Irish series.
While vacationing in Maine, Jim became interested in lighthouses, their uniqueness and their history. Jim has also painted Maine’s harbor scenes and landscapes.
Time spent in Tuscany and Lake Como, inspired Jim’s paintings of lake scenes, landscapes and vineyards of Italy.
Relaxing visits to Kauai and other Hawaiian islands have resulted in Jim’s paintings of scenic coastal locations.
His visits to the vineyards of California and Italy inspired Jim’s paintings of vineyards and still life. He also enjoys painting scenes from our National Parks.
